Rick and Morty Season 6 makes Morty king in the latest episode

Rick and Morty The final two episodes of Season 6 are now wrapping up, and Episode 9 of Season 6 takes Morty on a medieval knights adventure! Season 6 began with the surprising promise that not only would we see more attention paid to the general lore of the series, but that each character would go through their own periods of growth as they adapted to the new situation. quo After the events of the fifth season. But remarkably, this meant there were no complete Morty stories beyond what we saw in the first two episodes.

Morty may have pretty much taken a backseat during the events of Rick and Morty Season 6 so far, but episode 9 rectified that by putting him dead center in the midst of a new adventure he didn’t really want to be a part of. But as fans know all too well by now, this was really the first hook in what turned out to be a major penultimate episode. Here’s the breakdown of everything important that happened in “A Rick in King Mortur’s Court”:

What happens in Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 9?

  • Rick and Morty wait in line at a pop-up restaurant, but Rick soon refuses to wait in line as Morty rails against him because he thinks Rick is just selfish. He is approached by a pair of knights when they drop a piece of food, and the two are deeply impressed by Morty’s attempt to return the food they gave him to join the Sun Knights. One of them offers a sword, which Morty refuses because he doesn’t know what it is about. But when he decides to take it, the knight who gave it kills himself with it. Then Morty moved to a new place through some kind of magic.
  • After the opening credits, it is revealed that Morty’s will be transported to the Kingdom Under the Sun as they celebrate Morty becoming a Knight. It is revealed that they are able to survive the scorching sun thanks to their indestructibility, they don’t die, and they have as much freedom to do whatever they want as long as they fight for honor like the sun. Morty agrees to become knights after hearing all this, but slows down when they tell him to cut his people down and throw them into the sun.
  • Rick soon arrives to save Morty, but Morty threatens a duel because he can’t leave. Rick decides to make Morty do it so he leaves, giving him a sword he watched the movie Blade and learns as he fights to make him stronger. Morty soon wins the duel and becomes the Sun King. Morty uses his new role to order his own vacation, and when they return, Morty waits for Rick to talk about his frivolous decisions. But Rick refuses to do so.
  • Rick admits how low he is on Morty’s mind, and will treat him nicely for the rest of the episode. All the while, Morty is still accompanied by the rest of the Knights. The rest of the Smith family tries to make out what they mean, but because their understanding of the science is so inadequate, they can’t really connect the dots and give up on their jobs. But soon after Morty is pushed back, the Sun Knights lose faith and give up completely.
  • It is soon revealed that the Sun is out of control, and is in fact being attacked by invading forces that are the orders of the other Knights from other planets. Rick tries to support Morty’s decision throughout this adventure, and when Morty fails to get further orders to back down, they try to fight him over the Sun Scepter to become the dominant order in the universe. This starts a huge war between the planets which sees the different planets each controlling the sceptre of the sun.
  • Planets fight for it with each obtaining the scepter with advancements in magic, weapons, and more. He’s holding Rick and Morty to the ground as they try to protect him, and as Rick tries to prop him up, Morty can only guess if this is some way of messing with him. Rick asserts that he’s just trying to do right by Morty by constantly supporting him, and thus Morty tries to recruit the Knights of the Sun again.
  • But it is soon revealed that both knights have become addicted to the heroine, and it turns out that they cannot overdose due to their indomitable physique. But when they refuse, Morty offers to cut down his henchmen to help convince them of his cause. Morty starts crying about having to cut his own people down, and Rick helps him out by giving him fake soldiers to help him get out of this mess. Soon, both knights decided to end their war once the Sun Knights were involved again.
  • To seal the final agreement, Morty needs to isolate his people. He needs to prove he’s real by getting into a machine, then two more machines when they discover his fake ones. When all this fails, Rick contacts Morty telepathically (through his knowledge) and they try to run out of there. He reveals to Morty that he’s proud of trying to solve it himself, and they tell each other they love each other before jumping into the lava.
  • As the Knights tell the story of what happened next, it’s clear that they just pulled another trick in their Vat of Acid. But after checking with the community, it turns out that everything is going for the better. After the credits, the vendor who was selling snacks to Rick is arrested. It turns out that he was part of a big sausage smuggling ring.
