I was just a kid. Remember when Paulie discovered you, stole you from Paulie and said “Come here!” I saw you [in Encino Man] And I was like, this guy shouldn’t just be a caveman, he should be in a band. Michael Lehman was very much against you. He was saying “I don’t get it, I don’t see a caveman in this movie,” and I was like, “He could do other things.” I finally went to his house at 4 am, I woke up and he said “Who are you?” I said, “Never mind that, just know that Adam Sandler wouldn’t be in Airheads unless Ollie Fraser was in it.” So, he changed his tune a little.
Sandler really did everything he could to get the lead role of Brendan Fraser Airheads. He also shared while sitting opposite Brendan Fraser, the comedy director didn’t see him for the part, but he didn’t take a turn and the rest is history.
