WWE NXT Stars Axiom and Andy Hartwell secure the final points in the Deadline’s Survival Challenge

NXT kicked off the night with the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Wild Card match, which would be followed by the women’s match later in the night, thanks to both of which we now have our final lineups for the first-ever NXT match on Deadline. . For the men it was Von Wagner, Andre Chase and Axiom battling it out for the last spot in the match, while for the women it was Indi Hartwell, Wendy Choo and Fallon Henley. Chase would come close to winning the spot but it would be Axiom who would take the honor, while for the women it would be Hartwell who would take the win and secure the last spot in the match on the deadline.

At several points throughout the men’s match, Chase and Axiom would work in tandem to take Wagner down, but he would show his impressive strength throughout the match, grounding them both and keeping them at bay. Chase and Axiom managed to knock Wagner out of the ring and Axiom looked poised to take the win, but Chase got the better of this exchange, only for Axiom to dispose at the last minute.

Wagner came back up as a wrecking ball only to get locked up by Axiom, though he would force collide with Axiom on Chase’s head and then hit Chase, but somehow knocked Chase out. Wagner was picking on the Axiom but Chase got to his feet and knocked both of them out, then went upstairs. Wagner was brought down and the Axiom came in and connected with a kick, and he would cover Wagner and get the win.

In the women’s match, Hartwell was the aggressor, lashing out at both of her opponents and even going for cover, but Henley and Cho soon came back with insults of their own. Hartwell was down from both stars again, then Hartwell came back by almost pulling a double pin. Henley would then get a huge opportunity by defeating both of her opponents, but Hartwell would knock her to the ground and regain the upper hand.

All three would return to the ring and they were all trading suplexs and deadlifts, and Choo was rolling at one point, but was caught by Hartwell with a spinbuster, though Choo was knocked off the pin. Hartwell and Henley went at it after that, but then Cho came along and lashed out at both of them. At this point, the three rolling attempts at the pin were all knocked out, with Choo getting incredibly angry at the near fall.

She hit Henley but Hartwell knocked her out and hit Henley from behind and she went for cover, winning the final spot in the match.
