Chainsaw man It may have buckets of blood and gore found in the series that follows the life of demon hunter Denji, but the series created by Tatsukii Fujimoto isn’t shy about venturing into other genres when exploring this world of demons. With one of Denji’s main goals in the first season of the anime adaptation being to get a girlfriend, the manga’s second chapter has brought him very close to achieving that goal, with new art hilariously depicting a bloody shonen as a romantic comedy.
If you’ve only been following the anime, the manga has seen Denji put in a somewhat unique situation that’s far different from his early days as a demon hunter. Without getting too deep into spoiler territory, Denji is no longer the hero leading the series, but instead the current war demon, Asa Mitaka, has taken over. While Asa’s story has a number of similarities to that of the Saw Demon, in which a young high school student makes a deal with the war demon, she is definitely a much different character than the boy who might make a deal with the Saw Demon in an effort to lead a life that many of us take for granted. .

Twitter artist Am88121 took the opportunity to reimagine Chainsaw Man as a romantic comedy, with the manga’s final chapter seeing Denji and Asa on their first date in an aquarium, which took a dark turn for Chainsaw Devil thanks to the arrival of the Third Horseman of the Apocalypse:

Chainsaw manUnlike many other anime series, it only plans to have dozens of episodes in its first season, which makes sense if you not only consider the level of quality on offer, but also considering the phenomenal production that Studio MAPPA has delivered across its many anime series. While a second season has yet to be confirmed, MAPPA has been adamant that it hopes to adapt all of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga at some point.
