Super Mario Bros movie I got a new clip from Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment this week during The Game Awards to give Super Mario fans one of their best looks yet of Chris Pratt as Mario plus other characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. This new reveal follows on the heels of the first teaser trailer released in October and the full trailers that followed shortly thereafter. The movie itself is set for release on April 7th, so we should expect more excitement like this in the lead-up to this release.
Before the Game Awards reveal, people were expecting a trailer, but we ended up getting one instead, a reveal that was confirmed shortly after the show went live. You can check out those stills from the movie below:

For the most part, people seemed to endorse pretty much any parts of it Super Mario Bros movie It has been shown so far. After the release of the first trailer, people praised the setting of the Mushroom Kingdom as well as what can be seen from the animation style. Characters like Jack Black as Bowser and Toad Keegan’s actor-Michael Key in particular got a shout out for what we saw from their performances.
However, people weren’t very nice to Pratt and his confrontation with Mario. Pratt has spoken about his role as Mario several times now, and while it’s been confirmed that Pratt won’t be lending an Italian accent to the character, perhaps people were expecting more from the role. Based on what was initially shown, people have criticized Mario’s performance as just being Pratt’s voice coming from Mario, but this may not be a deal breaker for everyone.
Of course, it was somewhat expected that this trailer would be released soon. It was recently confirmed that Keegan-Michael Key is the voice of Toad in Super Mario Bros movie, will be present at The Game Awards. It wasn’t said at the time what Key would bring with him would be a new trailer or just some hype for the new movie, but people were expecting something regardless following the teaser.
