Rick and Morty The book is officially closed on Season 6 of the Adult Swim animated series with its final episode, and the series made sure to give fans a big update on Rick Prime after the villain made his debut during the season premiere! Things started this season in explosive fashion when it was revealed that due to the Evil Morty’s plan and Rick’s mistake in trying to fix things, the same Rick that C-137 had been looking for his whole life was in one place for the first time. But the search for the villain has slowed down in episodes since then.
Instead, Season 6 saw Rick choosing to work on himself and treat his family in an entirely different way as they all grew in significant ways over the subsequent episodes. But as the final episode of the season reveals, Rick hasn’t actually forgotten about hunting down Rick Prime and has been working on it in secret. The only problem is that he still can’t beat the villain leading up to the seventh season of the series in the near future.
Will Rick Prime return in Season 6 of Rick and Morty?
In the final episode of Season 6, “Ricktional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation”, it is soon revealed that Rick actually replaced himself with a robot in Episode 9 (which is why he was so cute) because the real version of him has been working in a secret underground floor. The garage where he was looking for Rick Prime. It continues to fail throughout the episode, shooting all the multiple places where Rick Prime is throughout the universe.

But the major update comes shortly after when he realizes he can’t do much on his own, he calls on Morty to help him out in the upcoming seventh season of the series as he prepares to face the “darkest” thing of his life. So while the villain doesn’t fully return in the final episode of the season, it was clear by this announcement that we’d at least get another look at this slow-burning story in the next slate of episodes.
