Invincible reveals the second season’s news timeline

More than a year has passed since then Invincible Season 1 has dropped, and there’s still no official sign of a second season of the show yet, though Amazon has committed to at least two more seasons of the popular animated superhero drama. This is about to change, however, as a form of social media Mail Today included the veiled promise that there would be an update coming in January 2023. The bloody series was a huge hit during its short first season, following on the heels of other superhero dramas. boyswhich became Prime Video’s flagship series.

An animated series for adults from Prime Video, Invincible Based on the long-running superhero series from Image Comics, Skybound, Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.

“SO…THIS IS THE LAST MONTH WE WILL NOT HAVE A SEASON 2 UPDATE FOR YOU!!!” The Invincible Headquarters Twitter account promise.

The series is adapted somewhat more faithfully than Kirkman’s the walking Deadwhich has undergone dramatic changes since the inception of AMC’s long-running show.

“[Invincible] Sometimes the comic book adaptations are very close, and sometimes they differ dramatically,” Kirkman told ComicBook.com last year. I believe the majority of the first seven are originals from the series. There are large parts of every episode that don’t exist in the comics at all. I think there’s even episodes #1 and #8, which I’ve written, and so I feel like maybe it skewed a little bit more into the comics than some of the other episodes, there are large portions of those episodes that are completely original to the show. But I think it’s because of the way it’s so consistent, and because some people haven’t read comics in some time, they’re like, ‘Oh yeah. This is exactly like the comics. So I think some people think it’s closer to comedy than it actually is. Then at the same time, after years and years of work the walking Dead And being the person in the room who’s like, “No, let’s change him. Let’s kill this character. Let’s do this,” I was always really pushing hard to change things as much as possible because I was bored with the source material because I’d been there for so long plus, the walking Dead It was something I still do actively [as a comic]. And so I said, “Oh my God, can we please do something different?”

“I take a slightly different approach Invincible Where I try to tell myself, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” Kirkman continued. My main goal is to expand and highlight the scenes in cool ways. And so I think you see a lot of that in Episode 8 with the battle stuff. Not many characters yet [at this point] In the comic book series…. there are a lot of different things along the way, to which I added that I feel kind of positive in that fight, but it doesn’t change in any way that makes it very different from the way it goes in the comics. And so I feel like this is a tribute to the source material, but also kind of expands on and improves in some great ways.”
