It’s hard to argue that the DC movie universe hasn’t been more chaotic behind the scenes than its Marvel Studios counterpart. Things had a harder time clicking into place, and it only became more complicated when DC Films acquired new heads in James Gunn and Peter Safran. However, things aren’t as bad as they might seem, because WB and Dwayne Johnson aren’t going to go to war.
Dwayne Johnson Black Adam The movie has been the focus of a lot of conversations in recent weeks. Johnson’s superhero movie has struggled at the box office, and recently it was revealed that the biggest news coming from the movie, the return of Henry Cavill’s franchise as Superman, didn’t lead to anything, since Cavill wouldn’t be playing the Man of Steel again after all.
Where this leaves Dwayne Johnson and DC Films is a big question. While there has been some backtracking on the idea of that Black Adam would lose money, a reversal on Cavill, represented by Dwayne Johnson’s agent, who is also his ex-wife, could have led to some domestic troubles. There were some signs that these problems were emerging when it was reported that The Rock had stopped following the Instagram accounts of both of them Black Adam Film and Discovery Warner Brothers. However, Johnson responded directly to the report Twitter Saying he didn’t, because he didn’t follow the accounts in the first place.
It is unclear where the initial confusion came from. The Rock is followed by over 600 accounts on Instagram, which is a small number considering he has over 350 million followers, but it sure would be hard to keep track of just who he’s following at any given time.
It’s possible that it was simply assumed that Dwayne Johnson followed those accounts at some point, it would certainly make sense that he did because he had a working relationship with them. It may have been noticed that he stopped following some accounts recently, and when it came out that he was not currently following those accounts, he thought he must have stopped following them recently.
The original post had a lot of fans very angry about the state of the DC movies. The reporter, who has interviewed Dwayne Johnson more than once, apologized for the error and deleted the original tweet. Johnson didn’t seem bothered by the whole thing, saying…
It is clear that there is a change happening in the capital. This is also expected when new bosses take over. However, it doesn’t seem like all of these significant changes necessarily have an impact on Dwayne Johnson’s relationship with the studio. A lot has already changed in terms of the studio’s direction and a lot is likely to change before things calm down. We’ll just have to wait and see what Dwayne Johnson’s future is Black Adam truly.
