OnePlus 11 rumors are starting to heat up, and it could simply be called the OnePlus 11. Regardless, we’re excited about what could be one of the best phones of 2023.
The OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10T proved to be excellent when we reviewed them a few months ago. But the competition has evolved since then, so we’re ready to see what OnePlus will do to upgrade its flagship model. So far, this looks like a new design and a new, more powerful chipset.
We’re rounding up all the OnePlus 11 rumors so far about the release date, price, specs, and more. And we have our own wish list of what we’d like to see.
Latest OnePlus 11 Rumors (Updated Dec 19)
OnePlus 11 name: Will there be a OnePlus 11 Pro?
Rumor of a leaker Max Jambor on Twitter (Opens in a new tab) He says that the OnePlus 11 may simply be called the OnePlus 11. This could be an effort on the part of OnePlus to simplify its lineup.
Also, as of the official OnePlus 11 launch announcement on February 7, no Pro model was mentioned, and only one phone appeared in the promotional images. Perhaps this is really the end of the flagship dual model that OnePlus has been using since the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro of 2019.
OnePlus 11: Possible release date and price
We will see the OnePlus 11 on February 7th at an event in New Delhi according to OnePlus, so we didn’t have long to wait. Keep in mind that there was a gap of several months between the Chinese release of the OnePlus 10 Pro and the global release. We may see this happen again, which means the OnePlus 11 won’t be offered to US or UK customers until later in Spring 2023.
As for pricing, we should expect a base cost of $899 or so, which was the OnePlus 10 Pro’s price at launch. The OnePlus 10T retails for $649 / £629, but it lacks many of the Pro’s features correspondingly.
Even at $899, OnePlus will still undercut equivalently premium and premium phones like the Galaxy S22 Plus, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and iPhone 14 Pro. Its main competitor will be the Pixel 7 Pro, which retails for $899 but could easily hold its own against the best from Samsung and Apple.
OnePlus 11: Design and Display
While we’ve seen part of the OnePlus 11 thanks to leaked renders and official OnePlus photos, most notably the circular camera block in the upper left corner of the phone, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the phone’s full design.
According to a leak from tipster digital chat station, the OnePlus 11 will have a metal frame and a ceramic body (Opens in a new tab). But another leak Max Gambore (Opens in a new tab) He says that this does not happen. We’ll have to wait and see, but we’re hoping for the metal and ceramic as it will give the phone a very luxurious feel that few phones on the market can match.
Up front, we imagine the OnePlus 11 will look a lot like the OnePlus 10 Pro with curved screen edges and a punch-hole camera in the left corner. The OnePlus 10T has a flat display with a hole in the middle, which seems to have been a change for the T series only, as unofficial renders are based on leaks from OnLeaksposted by Smart Brix.
As we can see in the renders, the big change here from the OnePlus 10 Pro and 10T is the camera bump. The square block is now transformed into a circular shape, with two lines extending from the main circular body to join the side rail. It’s another new OnePlus design, but at least it looks good.
OnePlus recently confirmed that its trademark alert slider would be returning to the 11. While the OnePlus 10T was the first OnePlus flagship without the slider, OnePlus’ statements from the time seemed to indicate that this wouldn’t be a permanent decision moving forward, which is what this turns out to be. It is indeed the case.
As for the screen, we’ll likely see another 6.7-inch QHD-resolution LTPO display on the 11, just as OnePlus has used in the past few generations of its flagship phone. That should once again put it in good stead to be one of the most premium screens available on a smartphone, alongside the Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The recently leaked specifications of the OnePlus 11 likely confirm that the new phone will retain a 6.7-inch QHD display.
In general, according to the leaker putrid On Weibo, the OnePlus 11 will be more impressive than the OnePlus 10 Pro as it will share a lot with the upcoming Oppo Find X6 Pro Plus. (What a mouthful.) The Oppo Find X series is the sister series to OnePlus’ flagship numbered phones, and it’s produced some great devices, like the Oppo Find X5 Pro. We don’t know what the Pro Plus variant on the Pro-only model would entail, but it looks intriguing at the very least.
OnePlus 11: cameras
As a model meant for the pros, we were expecting OnePlus to bring back the cameras tuned by Hasselblad for the 11, which turns out to be the case. OnePlus and stablemate Oppo still share a few more years of partnership with the Swedish camera maker, and while there was no Hasselblad camera on the OnePlus 10T, that was only because OnePlus apparently didn’t consider this phone focused on photography. So expect to see the Hasselblad crest and hear a lot of talk about natural coloring when the 11 arrives.
In terms of hardware, we’re expecting triple rear cameras, with a 48MP rear, 50MP ultra-wide and 10MP 3.3x telephoto cameras, as well as a 32MP front camera. We can see three lenses on the OnLeaks/SmartPrix render as well, which makes this feel even more likely.
Unfortunately, it seems that the cameras may not meet our expectations. Recently leaked specs say there is a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide lens and a 32MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom along with a 16MP selfie camera. This change may affect the overall performance of the camera – especially the reduced zoom capabilities.
This is also supported by a seemingly leaked image of the rear cameras of the OnePlus 11, which shows three cameras and a flash. Unfortunately, it notes that OnePlus won’t be equipping the OnePlus 11 with a periscope telephoto camera (since there’s no square shape of the lens hinting at a periscope lens), which means it likely wouldn’t have boosted zoom capabilities over its predecessor, and worse capabilities if there wasn’t a lens. enlarge at all.
As with the OnePlus 10 Pro, we don’t see any sign of a diverse fourth rear sensor, which is good because those didn’t impress us as much on older OnePlus phones. The OnePlus 8 Pro has a photochromic mode camera that can take pictures with an exotic (sometimes x-ray) filter applied, while the OnePlus 9 Pro introduced a monochrome camera meant for black and white shots.
OnePlus 11: Performance
As a flagship phone, the OnePlus 11 will not lack power, no matter which chip it ends up with. And that chip, according to the leaker Digital chat station It will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is the follow-up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 8 Plus Gen 1 that we’ve seen in several flagship Android phones in 2022. Subsequent leaks have backed that up.
Leaked specs have hinted at a 16GB model for the OnePlus 11, and another report backs that up. Additionally, the OnePlus 11 could get UFS 4.0 storage (Opens in a new tab) According to tipster digital chat station.
Whereas UFS 3.1 delivered read and write speeds of up to 2100MB/s and 1200MB/s, UFS 4.0 bumps this up to 4200MB/s and 2800MB/s respectively. Speeds of each lane can also reach up to 23.2Gbps, twice as fast as its predecessor. You can also expect a 46% improvement in efficiency, which means battery life should improve.
OnePlus 11: battery and charging
OnePlus has always prioritized charging speed on its phones, and so it seems a given that the OnePlus 11 will come with an absurdly powerful charging brick in the box. The only question is how strong.
The OnePlus 10 Pro came with an 80W charger, or a 65W charger in the US, while the OnePlus 10T shipped with a 150W charger. Despite these historical trends, the OnePlus 11 seems ready to shake things up again. The latest leaked specifications point to the presence of a 100W fast charger, which will be a step forward for OnePlus’ flagship model.
Battery life on the OnePlus 10 Pro was excellent, lasting 11 hours and 52 minutes at 120Hz on Tom’s Guide’s dedicated battery test. The 10T, with its slightly smaller battery and less advanced display, managed 10 hours and 59 minutes, which is still a good score but not class-leading. Hopefully, the OnePlus 11 will follow in the footsteps of the 10 Pro, but either way, we have to get one of the best Android flagship phones for battery longevity.
OnePlus 11: expectations
There are still plenty of rumors and news gaps about the OnePlus 11 as of now. However, what we’ve heard so far points to another excellent device from the company.
While we’re a bit concerned by the apparent lack of a dedicated Pro phone, and alleged changes like the lack of a telephoto camera, the OnePlus 11 could still be an impressive device if it made use of a large, smooth, detailed screen, fast charging, large battery and powerful chipset. We can’t wait for February to get to experience this phone for ourselves.
