Johnny Depp Delivers Pirates of the Caribbean 6 Return – We Believe | Movies | entertainment

Pirates of the Caribbean president Jerry Bruckheimer just gave a rare interview in which he gets candid about the future of the series. For now, fans have been left wondering if and when Pirates 6 will hit cinemas – and if Johnny Depp will be involved. Disney fans have now received their most promising update yet.

After the release of the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Salazar’s Revenge, Depp was dropped from the swashbuckling series in 2018. The news came after allegations that he was abusing his wife at the time, Amber Heard. Since then, a brutal and public court battle has raged over the past few years. Depp eventually won the fight, earning him a staggering $10 million in damages.

The trial even included Depp telling lawyers and the judge that he would “never come back” to play Captain Jack Sparrow in the future.

With that, Bruckheimer—a close friend of Depp’s, as well as his boss—was questioned about the future of Edward Scissorhands’ star in the series.

After Depp won the court battle against Heard, Bruckheimer was asked if this meant Disney would once again make him the hero of the film series. He replied, “You have to ask [Disney]. I can not answer this question. I really don’t know.

However, he spoke of his hopes for the future of the series.

Bruckheimer said, “I’d love to have him in the movie. He’s a great friend and actor and it’s such a shame that personal life creeps into everything we do.”

Depp’s story as Captain Jack Sparrow is far from over, so if he returns, he’ll still have plenty of content to act on.

Interestingly, however, Bruckheimer also revealed that there are not one, but two Pirates of the Caribbean films in the pipeline from Disney.

Of the delays to Pirates 6, Bruckheimer said: “God, they’re all difficult. I think we’re getting pretty close to that, too. We’ve got a pretty good script. We’ve developed two of them — one with Margot Robbie and one with a younger cast.”

However, Bruckheimer added, “Margot Robbie needs more work. Younger casting soon. Hopefully we get both.”

Earlier this month, Robbie revealed in an interview that her Pirates of the Caribbean movie is no longer in production. She told Vanity Fair, “We had an idea and we’ve been developing it for a while, for ages, to have a female-led story — not entirely female-led, but just a different kind of story — which we thought would be ‘You were really cool, but I think [Disney] You don’t want to do that.”

But Bruckheimer totally disagreed. After being asked what Robbie’s movie is on the shelf, he says it’s still on the cards

It’s alive for me,” Bruckheimer said. “It’s alive for Disney. I’m sure she was disappointed it didn’t go first—or maybe not because she’s been so busy, so it might be a good idea to push this a little bit. We think we’ll make it. It’s a strong story.” Extremely “.

There were no further details about the second Pirates movie, which we now know is focused on a “younger cast.”

Fans have also been left in the dark as to whether Depp will return in the near future.

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are available to watch on Disney Plus now.
