LadBaby’s First Christmas Line Is In Peril As Classic Hit Prepares To Shock | music | entertainment

LadBaby is at it again. They’re about to release their fifth Christmas charity single, Food Aid, with “The Trussell Trust” the proceeds. And while their success seemed like a sure thing for the past week, they may be about to lose their first Christmas streak.

At the moment, Ladbrokes position LadBaby as the favorite to claim this year’s Christmas number one. They currently have a strong 1/4 to claim their fifth win.

This year’s track features Martin Lewis as well as some impersonators of other big stars, including Paul McCartney and Elton John.

However, things are starting to get a little tense at the top. Ladbrokes has recently lowered the odds on a few of its main Christmas contenders – and LadBaby’s biggest threat at the moment is Wham!

Yes, their legendary hit, Last Christmas, remains a British favorite, and its odds against LadBaby are getting better every day. Ladbrokes awarded the song an amazing 5/1 considering this holiday season is special to it.

If last Christmas took the top spot, this would be the first time it hits! track did that. The year it was released, George Michael’s track lost out to Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas – the very song LadBaby is a parody of.

LadBaby and Wham! Both could lose this Christmas. YouTube group The Sidemen also released their own Christmas number one special for 2022: Christmas Drillings. The track features JME as well as sidemen KSI, Miniminter, Zerkaa, TBJZL, and more. Moreover, the earnings from the song are also donated to a charity – Fareshare.

The group recently got odds of 8/1 from Ladbrokes – and it’s easy to see why.

The Sidemen recently released an exclusive physical copy of their single on HMV for £3.99, and the music retailer has already reported “strong sales” after hauling in 3,000 copies in just “two hours”.

HMV and Fopp director Phil Halliday said of The Sidemen’s track: “This Christmas is going to be harder than ever for millions of people, so we’re thrilled to be doing our bit to raise money for Fareshare with this wonderful charity single.”

“We are thrilled to have hmv in our great endeavor to raise money for Fareshare and make thousands more meals available to those who need them most,” said Jordan Schwarzenberger, Restaurant Manager, Sidemen.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Abbate said: “LadBaby looked all but certain for another Christmas number one, but with the Sidemen and Wham! now hot on their heels, the latest odds suggest the race is fast becoming open.”
