The Samsung Galaxy S23 launch date may be closer than we thought. A trusted leaker has set February 1 for the Samsung Unpacked event, and that’s when the new Samsung S23 could be revealed for the first time. .
It depends ice world (Opens in a new tab) on Twitter, who posted “February 1” followed by “Galaxy Unpacked.” Just this week, there was another rumor that Samsung might delay the launch of the Galaxy S23 as it discussed pricing for the three models, but we put more weight behind this latest leak.
What this leak means for the Galaxy S23 release date
If this February 1 date is correct, it would be about a week before Samsung’s Unpacked event for the Galaxy S22 series, which took place last year on February 9. The Galaxy S22 release date ended on February 25th, but pre-orders began on the same day as the Unpacked on the 9th.
So if Samsung follows a similar pattern this year, Samsung Galaxy S23 pre-orders could start as soon as February 1, and the Galaxy S23 release date could be February 17.
What do you expect from the Galaxy S23
The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus tend to offer a redesign closer to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. So the contoured design had to be replaced with a more elegant unibody look on the back without an obvious camera module.
All three Galaxy S23 models are likely to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which proved impressive in early benchmark results. In fact, all three S23 devices could have a jailbroken version of the chip.
Another rumored feature is the upgraded fingerprint reader which allows for a fingerprint that is 17 times larger than the current in-display fingerprint readers used by Samsung. It can also allow multiple fingerprints to be scanned simultaneously.
The Galaxy S23 series may also offer satellite communications to compete against the iPhone 14. This would enable users to get help in emergency situations when they are out of cellular range and Wi-Fi. Reportedly, the Samsung app will allow sharing of SMS and low-resolution photos; iPhone does not allow you to share photos with its feature.
The biggest upgrade will likely come with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which tends to feature a massive 200MP main camera, a big jump from the already ultra-wide 108MP sensor in the Galaxy S22 Ultra. And we can see an upgraded 12MP front camera for all three models.
Now that we have a tentative release date for the Galaxy S23, rumors and leaks are sure to heat up even more. So be sure to check out our Samsung Galaxy S23 hub and Galaxy S23 Ultra page for the latest info as we get closer to the big day.
