Who dies in the sequel to Knives Out

It takes a while for someone to die before it is revealed that he isn’t the only one who didn’t survive the killer’s plot. Warning: spoilers ahead!

The film is in full swing when the first murder takes place, but it is soon revealed that another murder occurred before the events of the film. During the main characters’ gathering on Miles Bron’s (Edward Norton) private island, Duke Cody (Dave Bautista) is killed instantly when he drinks from a mug that appears to be covered in poison that was meant for Miles. This causes chaos within the group, and tensions begin to flare up as accusations mount. Shortly after Duke’s death, Andy Brand (Janel MonĂ¡e) talks to Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) when she is shot by an unknown assailant. The movie then cuts to flashbacks and reveals that Andy is not Andy at all, but rather her twin sister, Helen.

It is revealed that Andy committed suicide days earlier, and Helen seeks Benoit’s help to prove that her sister was, in fact, murdered. Helen poses as Andy and teams up with Benoit to help solve Andy’s murder. After a flashback, it is revealed that Helen was not actually killed when she was shot, leaving Duke and Andy as the only two victims in the film. In the end, it is revealed that Miles killed Andy to prevent her from revealing the truth that she was the true brain behind his business. Helen tried to hide her sister’s death from the press, but the news eventually broke, and Duke received an alert on his phone during the rally. Duke breaks the news to Miles, explaining that Miles was at Andy’s house when she died. Before anyone else learns the news and suspects Miles, he puts pineapple in his drink and replaces it with Duke’s. It was revealed earlier that Duke has a pineapple allergy, and it turns out to be very fatal. This brings the final death toll in the film to two: Duke and Andy.
