Much has been made about Britney Spears’ use of social media since her rationalization period ended. The singer used her newfound freedom to talk about the limitations she lived under and her family’s blowout. She’s also dropped fun photos, commented on her interests, and posted a fair amount of more adult content. This adult content has gotten the lion’s share of the attention that even her new husband, Sam Asgari, had to comment on it earlier this month. He told fans he would “prefer” when Spears didn’t post nude photos on social media but he’s not in control of it and doesn’t want to be.
It’s unclear how Spears feels about these preferences, but there was a lot of speculation after the singer, just days after her husband’s comments, dropped a series of four posts, which included photos and videos of her in the shower, along with an explanation about how Instagram doesn’t People like to show their bodies. Soon after the posts appeared, they were snapped up, except for one that was just a selfie asking her mom for coffee.

The photos and videos in question were taken on a recent trip to Mexico by Britney Spears and Sam Asgari. It was posted in the wake of fans begging the singer to drop more new content. Before she shut down her Instagram comments earlier this month, Spears’ fans were bombarding every single post from the singer with conspiracy theories. Much of her content was impromptu photos and dance videos that appeared to have been taken in her old home. This was leading many to believe she wasn’t running a socialite of her own or maybe something was wrong. In fact, the chatter was very loud TMZ He posted a story earlier this week saying Spears was doing well and confirming that the shower videos were new and actually shot in Mexico.
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari got married in a fancy ceremony over the summer. At the time, Spears was experimenting with a variety of activities that she was prohibited from doing during her term such as driving, using an ATM card, and drinking alcohol. She’s also been traveling a fair amount with her new husband, although much to fans’ dismay, not many paparazzi photos from those trips have emerged.
There are also still some ongoing legal proceedings related to her safekeeping and specifically her father’s handling of her financial affairs. She routinely criticized her father, Jamie Spears (and other members of her family) for what she had been through, but he insisted that the guardianship was necessary and might have saved her life. He is now allegedly working with ex-husband Kevin Federline to write a book about parenthood.
It’s unclear if the shower videos will still be up this time around. Either way, Spears is clearly determined, after being in control for so many years, to live her own life and make her own decisions, regardless of the preferences of others, including her husband.
