Stan Lee’s version of Batman for DC is finally getting his own Joker

Next week, comic book fans will celebrate what could have been the 100th anniversary of prolific creator and pop culture icon Stan Lee. While Lee has been almost synonymous with his work in the Marvel universe, he worked in the DC universe in the early 2000s through just imagine being. The impact saw him and Batman film producer Michael Uslan remix the origins of the core DC characters, which then led to a one-shot series published in 2001-2002 – and next week, their mythology will be added in a major way with the release of Earth-6: Stan Lee Celebration, a new anthology collection of one story set in that universe. As a new preview, which will include the introduction of The Choker, reveals, Earth-6’s take on classic Batman villain The Joker.

“Number one, Stan didn’t want to mirror or be a reflection of DC’s superheroes,” Uslan He explained in an interview with ScreenRant. He wanted to flip them. He wanted moments of flopping. So he really flipped the character of Batman. So, without adding any spoilers in the last panel of my story, I added another little Stan Lee kind of flipping that I thought I would appreciate from a traditional Batman perspective. And the other thing Ho, who’s the bad guy? And there was no question in my mind. I had a big smile on my face because I could hear Stan laughing. I picked a guy who’s a serial killer in Gotham City. He’s choking women. The press called him The Choker.”
