Brian May teases new music for 2023 as he wishes Queen fans a Merry Christmas in new videos | music | entertainment

Brian May may be 75 years old, but he’s showing no sign of slowing down, having just finished a very busy year. Aside from the reissue of his second solo album Another World, the guitarist performed with Queen and Adam Lambert on their mega-tour of the UK and Europe. This included the iconic opening act for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert, where the late King and Paddington Bear tapped We Will Rock – something the rock star himself suggested. It may now be Christmas, but Brian is already looking forward to the new year, and thrilling audiences with the music he plans to unveil in 2023.

Brian has been active on his Instagram, posting a message on Christmas Eve with decorations behind him. The Queen legend simply said in this video: “Merry Christmas folks! Wherever you are…Peace!” But it was the video he posted just earlier in the week that got fans incredibly excited.

The footage for this post had Brian strumming his own red guitar in front of a Christmas tree with the message: “This is a tease… for something nice coming up in January. Wild.” The start of the cryptic single sounds like We Are The Champions, while the rock legend shared more in his posted comment.

Brian wrote: “This is what’s known in the trade as ‘Sting’…and I hope it rings a bell with you guys early next year – when it’s all revealed!! Love going into the studio to make something new – like starting to write the lyrics on A crisp new sheet… And in the studio I get lost. For a few moments, I’m immersed in the music we’re making, and that’s my whole world. Of course, sometimes I miss my friends… Happy Winter Solstice, folks! From now on, for those of us in the half North of the now frozen globe, the days are getting longer, the sun is warming our skin, and spring is already flexing its wings. Onward!!! Wild.” What could it be? Perhaps Brian is working on a new solo project, despite the fact that he says “the music we make” suggests something collaborative.

New Queen music with Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert is always a possibility, though it sounds like it could be something with Kerry Ellis. The singer released singles and albums with Brian and another video from earlier in the week with the guitarist in the same position as his last tease.

In the post, the 75-year-old said: “A seasonal moment where I’m doing one of my favorite things – playing guitar for @kerryellis79! This is the guest appearance of a very poignant song on their new album coming in 2023. And now…. Back to Starfleet And some anthropomorphic asteroid adventures…. Cheers to all – Bri.” Whatever he has planned to reveal in the new year, fans aren’t likely to be disappointed.
