According to Politico editor Joanna Weiss, they are in the same class as narcissists like Kanye West, Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Elizabeth Holmes, and Sam Bankman Fried. This editor thinks they’re all overdue for welcoming the zeitgeist.
Weiss wrote a column titled “2022 Is the Year We’re All Tired of Narcissists”. It makes the case that these characters spend their entire lives chasing the spotlight. Both the Duke and Duchess have taken extreme measures that have transformed them from sympathetic figures into real annoyances to the entire world. Something very similar happened to all the other characters mentioned in this article, each of them having a specific story.

Does this columnist have a point or is this just another one of these coordinated attacks? There are many media outlets that are notorious for their eagerness to jump on the cultural cancellation bandwagon. Politico has been doing this for years, especially during the presidency of Donald Trump. Comparing Meghan and Harry to many of these characters who actually hurt people could be considered overstated by some. If these journalists were royal sympathizers, they could refrain entirely from writing about the royal family.
