Nvidia confirms that GeForce Now Game Streaming is coming to a bunch of cars

Nvidia has confirmed that a range of cars will be able to take advantage of the GeForce Now streaming service in the near future. As of recently, select Tesla models have been able to take advantage of Steam and play massive AAA games like Elden ringAnd the Cyberpunk 2077 movie, and more. Of course, you need around $100,000 to be able to take advantage of this incredibly luxurious feature and it might make sense to get a Steam Deck at that point if that’s the main reason you’re interested in the car. However, you will soon be able to play a bunch of AAA games on other cars in the near future.

It was also confirmed at CESNvidia will offer its GeForce Now streaming service to a variety of auto brands including BYD, Polestar, and Hyundai Motor Group (including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis) in the future. This will allow drivers and front passengers to play more than a thousand games, including AAA titles, while they are parked or charging their car. Vehicles with rear-seat monitors will also have access to a GeForce Now stream even while the vehicle is driving, so kids or other passengers in the back can kill the time. As of now, it is not clear when this feature will be added to the aforementioned vehicles, but it is on the way.

“We’re excited to bring our customers the best in BYD technology, convenience and design and now the latest games through our high-performance NVIDIA GeForce NOW cloud gaming service,” said Stella Li, BYD vice president and CEO, BYD America. “The driving experience of our cars is becoming increasingly sophisticated, entertaining and sustainable.”

Looking at the brands that support this, it looks like it will be an exclusive feature of electric cars. Of course, you probably won’t have much of a reason to sit in your car and play a game if you own a gas car. However, if you have to charge for 30 minutes, that gives you time to make progress on your favorite games.
