JWH Boutique brings elegance, makes history with the first black-owned store in Wayne, Pennsylvania

Wayne, Pennsylvania – Hilary White Jean is a former celebrity hairstylist who brings the best of Rodeo Drive and Fifth Avenue to the main line.

At JWH Boutique (the store’s name is made up of her initials, backwards) in Wayne, the lifelong fashion designer recently fulfilled her dream of opening her own location for a one-of-a-kind selection of clothing, jewelry, and art.

The opening made history as JWH Boutique became the first African American owned store in Wayne.

She personally curates her collection for shows around the world and has access to designers who give her “exclusive” status to carry their lines – like Australia’s Camilla and Project Runway’s Caycee Black.

Originally from Haiti, Jeanne came to the United States when she was fourteen years old. She made a name for herself as a celebrity hairstylist and started her modeling business with clothes on her back only.

She said “I started from my closet. I would sell one piece of clothing, then buy a new one.” “I was actually waiting for a loan, and it never got.”

“I had absolutely no idea (I’d be the first)! I didn’t know I was,” Jean said. “All I wanted to do was do my best.”
