Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A teen has been charged with first degree homicide in the fatal shooting of a man in Houston’s East End neighborhood on Friday, according to HPD.

Police said Jorge Vasquez, 17, and another suspect attempted to rob a man after an altercation with him.
Houston police were called to Eastwood Street and Beale Street for a running call before 2 a.m. Friday.
ORIGINAL REPORT: A man is found shot dead after a car crash in Houston’s East End, and two suspects are taken into custody, according to the Health and Safety Department.
Officers quickly responded to the scene, but the victim, a Hispanic man in his twenties, was found dead. He was found in a car that was partially on the sidewalk.
Investigators determined that Vasquez and an adult surrounded the car the victim was in and fired from the passenger and driver side, causing the victim to hit the accelerator and crash into the front yard of the house.
Police said at least 15 bullets were fired a few meters from the families’ homes.
A neighbor told HPD that they looked out the window and noticed Vasquez and the other suspect running around in all black.
Such information was crucial in helping the police find the suspects, and they began searching the area.
Investigators said the two suspects were found and turned themselves in two blocks away after deploying a K-9 helicopter and an HPD helicopter.
Detectives searched the area for any weapons that may have been used in the shooting.
The officers reportedly found evidence related to the case dumped somewhere near the area. They also found multiple shell casings in the middle of the street.
Vazquez is expected to return to court on January 23.
