The second trailer for Shazam! Wrath of the Gods He arrived Thursday, previewing the next chapter in the Billy Batson/Shazam story! And his strong family. The DC sequel will feature a number of new and returning faces telling its story – including Rachel Ziegler, in her second-ever movie role after a breakout performance in West Side Story. While the 2021 movie, and other future installments of her movies including surprising and live action snow White film, bowed to Ziegler’s musical talent, Sandberg revealed Wrath of the Gods You wouldn’t….but not for the reason you might expect.
“It’s funny because I had no idea she was singing, and she seems to be singing in every other movie,” Sandberg said Tell Entertainment Weekly. “In our country, she doesn’t do that because I didn’t know!”
Who does Rachel Ziegler play? Shazam! 2?
Ziegler has now been confirmed to be playing Anthena, the third daughter of Atlas. She, along with her older sisters Hespera (Helen Mirren) and Kalypso (Lucy Liu), prepares to present a unique challenge to the Shazamily family.
“I liked the first Shazam film,” Peter Safran, producer and co-CEO of DC Studios, explained in an interview with collider last year. “I thought it was done beautifully. I thought David Sandburg nailed that tune very well. The eye of the needle was a little too small to get it right, but he really did. I feel like this second one has more emotion, more humor, but it also has action.” Bigger, bigger set pieces, some great villains. I just feel like it’s everything we loved about the first movie but coming to 11. So I love that.”
“I think adding some of these new characters with Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren, and Lucy Liu are great releases,” Safran continued. “I love that all the kids are a little older now, so we’re going to have more fun in a more edgy way with them. Zack inhabits that character in a lovely way. So I was able to make the second of those, and it’s a thrill.”

The film stars Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as Billy Batson / Shazam!, Grace Caroline Currie as Mary Bromfield, Adam Brody as Super Hero Freddy, Faithy Herrmann as Darla Dudley, Megan Good as Super Hero Darla, Ian Chen as Super Hero Eugene Choi, Ross Butler as Super Hero Eugene, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, DJ Cotrona as Super Hero Pedro, Marta Milans as Rosa Vasquez, and Cooper Andrews as Victor Vasquez. New cast members also include Rachel Ziegler in a currently unknown role, Helen Mirren as Hespera, and Lucy Liu as Calypso.
