Red celebrates its final box office numbers with its Gear V poster

One Piece Movie: Red Officially ending its legendary run in all theaters this month, Toei Animation is celebrating the film’s final box office numbers with a special new poster highlighting Luffy’s latest Gear Fifth skin! Luffy’s newest power-up was recently introduced to Eiichiro Oda’s original manga series, so it was quite a surprise for fans to see it included during the events of One Piece Film: Red. In short, it made such an impact on fans that it is now being used to mark the end of the movie’s run across Japan.

Although the One Piece Movie: Red Finishing its international theatrical run last year, it was such a hit for Toei Animation that it kept its run in Japan for a little while longer. The film officially ended its release on January 29, earning 31.9 billion yen (about 246 million US dollars) worldwide and earning 19.7 billion yen (about 152 million US dollars) in Japan alone over 177 days in theaters. With One Piece Movie: Red Now slated to hit theaters in Japan, it won’t be long before it gets an official home media release. An international Blu-ray and DVD release date or window has not yet been set, but there’s a good chance we’ll check it out at home before the year is out.
