The competition will crown the UK’s biggest Disney fan – with the ride of a lifetime as the prize | Movies | entertainment

The prize – apart from glory – is a stay that money can’t buy at the legendary Cinderella Castle suite at Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort, which is not normally available to the public.

But before that, the contestants need to prove their mettle on social media, before being narrowed down to the final ten who will then complete a series of Disney-themed challenges.

The competition will be hosted by Strictly Come Dancing, and Disney superstar Janet Manara, who said: “As a lifelong Disney fan, I am thrilled to be part of the coronation of the UK’s biggest Disney fan.

“I’ve been to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida 43 times, the first time when I was one.

“I even managed to get my husband on board by making an annual visit to the Disney parks on our wedding vows, before we honeymooned at Disneyland Paris.

“I chose Disney as my Mastermind theme — so you could say I’m more than qualified to help guide fans on their magical journey.”

The competition is open until February 13, 2023, when entrants are narrowed down to a shortlist of 10 fans and their families, by a special panel from Disney.

Once chosen, those lucky ones will take part in the “ultimate Disney vacation” over the Easter weekend.

This will include private visits to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and sailings on the Disney Cruise Line ship.

Over the course of 10 days, fans and their families will compete in 10 challenges throughout the theme parks and aboard Disney Wish.

The winner will be crowned by the UK’s biggest Disney fan, in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

To enter, ‘House of Mouse’ fans, aged 18 or over, must upload a 30-60 second video from a public Instagram account, tagging @DisneyParksUK and using the hashtag #UKsBiggestDisneyFan.

In a video that cannot contain music, participants must express why they want to compete for the coveted title.

Alternatively, they can head to the Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris or Disney Cruise Line UK Facebook pages, and upload their entry in the comments of the contest post.

Disney’s Angelica Costantini said: “This is a very exciting way for us to come together and share our stories and memories during our centenary.

“We have been inspired by the fans and families who have brought us into their hearts over the past 100 years, and we wanted to choose an award that reflected that.

“The 10 shortlisted fans and their families are expected to have a truly magical time experiencing Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disney Cruise Line, all while vying for the title of biggest Disney fan in the UK.”
