The OnePlus Pad, the phone manufacturer’s first tablet, may be set to launch alongside the OnePlus 11 later today, but that doesn’t stop some last-minute leaks providing some additional details. Twitter leaker abhishek yadav has chirp (Opens in a new tab) From the list of alleged specifications, while showing a promotional video on the Chinese social network Weibo (Opens in a new tab) It gives us a glimpse of the tablet’s pen and keyboard.
According to Yadav’s tweet, the OnePlus Pad will include an 11.6-inch LCD display, complete with 2.8K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and support for both HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. We’ve heard about a bunch of these specs before, especially in regards to the display. 11.6 inches isn’t the largest tablet on the market, but its 2.8K resolution and a144Hz refresh rate mean we should be getting an absolutely stunning visual experience. Plus, support for HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos means you’ll be able to get the most out of HDR, no matter what standard a piece of content actually supports.
This display will really need power from that battery, and 65W charging to keep it running. Despite their high resolutions and refresh rates, they can be quite a drain on power — especially on larger screens like these. We’ll test the OnePlus Pad’s battery life ourselves before we can make hard judgments.
The same applies to the performance of the cameras and the Dimensity 9000 chipset, in the event that these specifications are proven to be accurate. This rear camera looks pretty big, but the size worries me a little — especially since I’m of the opinion that tablets don’t have to come with rear cameras.
For the promotional video, it reveals a keyboard that looks similar to the old iPad Magic Keyboard — one without the new floating screen design. This also means a trackpad, for all those times when you don’t want to use a touch screen, but otherwise the keyboard feels a little unremarkable.
The same goes for what we saw from the pen. Aside from confirming that the OnePlus Pad will offer stylus support, there isn’t much to glean from its extremely short appearance. But that’s to be expected, and we’d expect the stylus to have similar features to what the best tablets offer, like pressure sensitivity.
The OnePlus Pad is expected to be unveiled at the OnePlus Launch event later today (February 7), which is scheduled to start at 9 AM EST.
