Missing Person in Texas: The Fulcher family is reunited with Leslie Godfrey Jr. after his disappearance 4 years ago

Fulcher, TX (KTRK) – The uncle of a man who has been missing for more than four years told ABC13 about the special moment they were reunited after officers reached out to let them know he had been found.

A photo captured the moment Leslie Godfrey Jr. and his sister were reunited after going missing four and a half years ago.

James Ferguson, Leslie’s uncle, said: “Everybody was just happy to see him, and to set our eyes on him. We just thank God that he spared his life while he was there.”

His family spoke to ABC13 about how grateful they are to the Fulshear cops who went to great lengths to bring Leslie home.

Ferguson said Leslie, now 35, had gone through a difficult period in his life and could not come to terms with the deaths of his mother, father and grandmother.

“It really had an effect on him. From there, he was in and out of some issues. About four and a half years ago, he just disappeared,” said Ferguson.

His family has been searching for him ever since, but a call from Fulcher Police will change all that.

“Suddenly our niece, who is his only sister, called my sister saying she had been called by an officer in Fulcher,” Ferguson said.

Leslie is found alive and well.

A post was made by the Fulcher Police Department appreciating and thanking Officer Jennifer Edmonds and Sgt. Kevin Zieschang for going above and beyond the call of duty to help locate Leslie’s family after he was found wandering around a neighborhood.

Leslie is now doing well and on the road to recovery.

Describing the special moment he saw his nephew as someone he and his family would never forget, Ferguson said it was their faith that kept them going.
