Disney Lorcana is a new trading card game set to be published by Ravensburger this fall. Each player is an “Illumineer”, a wizard with the ability to summon different characters from various Disney stories. The characters that players summon are “glimmers” of actual Disney characters, and the game will feature missions of some sort along with an overarching story. Ravensburger hopes so Disney Lorcana would be equivalent to Magic: The Gathering or Pokemon Trading Card Game, With plans to support a robust gaming system and quarterly releases.

Ravensburger wisely chose to show new cards on a slow basis, with each card denoting certain new mechanics or rules. For example, last week’s reveal featured a Magic Mirror item card, while the previous week showed an alternate version of Aurora from sleeping beauty.

The first group of Disney Lorcana It will be released in August and will contain more than 200 cards of different rarities.
