Marvel announces a new Mandalorian series

Soon fans will be jumping back into the world of Star Wars: The Mandalorian with the highly anticipated third season, but for those who want to relive the second season of the series, you’re in luck. Marvel has announced Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2, which will be an eight-issue installment of the show’s second season. You’ll start with Chapter 9: The Marshal, the famous episode that introduced fans to Marshal Cobb Vanth, and from there each issue will adapt one episode of the season (via StarWars.com). You can check out a preview of the covers for the awesome issue starting on the next slide.

Continuing their work from Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 1, writer Rodney Barnes and artist Georges Jeanty are returning for the series. Genty will handle the first issue of the series, then artist Stephen Cummings (Star Wars: Hidden Empire) will handle the remaining seven issues. The series is set to be released later this year, but no set date has been set for it.

“Adapting The Mandalorian has been pure joy!” Barnes tells StarWars.com. “The series embodies all aspects of the Star Wars universe: the myth, the mystery, and the spectacle that made me fall in love with it so long ago. It’s such an honor to be a part of this project!”

“I’m thrilled to be a part of The Mandalorian universe and to be able to chart some of his adventures,” Cummings adds. “The Lone Wolf and Cub’s Old West vibe on the show has me excited to pick up my pencil every day and dive in.” You can find a summary of Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 below.

The Mandalorian’s journeys through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Dean Darren reunites with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will meet old allies and create new enemies as he continues He and Grogu have their journey together.”
