Announcing the Studio Ghibli Fest 2023 lineup

Studio Ghibli has become legendary with its beloved animated classics. With the production house working on new films to this day, Studio Ghibli Fest 2023 promises to bring many of the studio’s legendary films into theaters once again. Now, the event has given anime fans a breakdown of which movies are set to return to the silver screen including Spirited Away: Live on stagethe live-action revue of the only Studio Ghibli film to win Best Motion Picture at the Academy Awards.

This year’s Ghibli lineup includes:

  • my neighbor totoro – From the 25th of March until the 29th of March
  • Spirited Away: live on stage – From April 23rd to April 27th
  • Ponyo’s 15th Anniversary Special – May 7, 8 and 10
  • Kiki’s Delivery Service – June 11, 12 and 14
  • Nausicaa Valley of the Wind – July 9 through July 11
  • castle in the sky – July 10th and July 12th
  • Prince Mononoke – August 5 through August 9
  • Porco Rosso – 20 and 22 August
  • Special offer on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the wind – August 21 and 23
  • Howl’s Moving Castle – From September 23 to September 27
  • kidnapped – October 28 through November 1

Return to Studio Ghibli

GKIDS shared information about the upcoming Studio Ghibli Fest 2023 via their official Twitter account, so fans know which of the best Ghibli films are returning to the silver screen this year and how they can purchase tickets:

Luckily for anime fans, Studio Ghibli Fest will be showing in theaters across North America, with the festival described thusly on the official website: “Studio Ghibli Fest is back and bigger than ever! March through November, enjoy the Hayao Experience All 10 Done! Miyazaki’s iconic animated films are produced at Studio Ghibli in this first-of-its-kind nationwide retrospective.

Each film will have an exclusive selection from the documentary series 10 years with Hayao Miyazaki So you can step behind the scenes with an expert animator. New this year are the first-ever North American offerings Soul Away: Live on Stagewhich features two separate full-length performances that were filmed during the production’s acclaimed show in Tokyo last year.”
