The luckiest guy is at it again – buying real estate with Powerball jackpot of $2 billion win in november, CBS Angeles reports.
After Edwin Castro claimed victory last month, he bought a Hollywood Hills bachelors pad for $25 million. And records show he just bought another home, for $4 million, in Altadena – a short walk from the gas station where he bought the winning ticket.
Dirt.com describes the five-bedroom, four-bathroom 1953 home as modern, with Japanese influence and Palm Springs vibes. Two bedrooms are configured for an art studio and a soundproofed movie theater, respectively. The outside features a pond and patio as well as a saltwater pool.
Castro’s three-story hillside Hollywood mansion has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and two powder rooms. The basement has a gym, cold plunge pool, wine cellar, movie theater, and sauna. Outdoors, there is a kitchen, infinity pool, and rooftop deck.
Castro applied more than three months after purchasing the winning ticket at a Joe’s Service Center in Altadena. He was declared the winner on February 14 by California Lottery officials.
The total jackpot was $2.04 billion, the largest lottery prize in US history. Castro chose to pay a total of $997.6 million.
