Secret invasion It will center around MCU veterans Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Mendelsohn) as they deal with an invasion of shape-shifting Skrulls who have infiltrated all aspects of life on Earth. Other MCU veterans include Smulders as Maria Hill, Don Cheadle as James “Rowdy” Rhodes/War Machine, and Martin Freeman as Everett Cross. New cast members will include Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher MacDonald, Dermot Mulroney, and Cillian Scott. The series is written and produced by Kyle Bradstreet and directed by Thomas Pezucha and Ali Selim.
“It seems So Good,” Smulders raved in an interview earlier this fall, “and it’s a very different tone from what I’ve seen [in the MCU]. I mean, Sam’s presence [Jackson] In anything he’s just a thrill to watch, but I think he really puts his character in a really interesting way that I’ve always wanted to see.”
“It’s the most Depth I was able to show Maria Hill,” Smulders continued. That’s the beauty of this series that Marvel is doing, you can really get a back story on these characters. What conversations happen when they’re just sitting down drinking coffee? It’s not like, ‘We gotta get the bad guys! We gotta get the thing! We have to save the world again! It’s like, ‘Let’s just have a chat, let’s go for a walk.’ We’ll see those kinds of moments and get more intimate with the characters.”
