A California doctor has been accused of trying to poison a husband with liquid drain cleaner who was trying to kill ants, an attorney says

Los Angeles — Southern California A female doctor has been accused of poisoning her husband, Drano’s tea has been charged.

Now, we are hearing from both attorneys for the case as the defendant is expected to appear in court in the coming weeks.

Dermatologist Yu “Emily” Yu was accused of poisoning her husband with liquid drain cleaner, and charged with three felony counts of poisoning and one count of household battery. However, her lawyer claims that the woman’s husband set her up.

The wife’s lawyer, Scott Simmons, said, “Dr. Chen basically set her up and put spy cameras or hidden cameras in the kitchen to catch her doing it. Then he claimed it was poisoned.”

These images focus on the Orange County District Attorney who claims they show the mother-of-two pouring a “drano-like substance” into her husband Dr. Jack Chen’s tea, “intended to cause him pain and suffering.”

But Yoo’s lawyer said that was not what was filmed. He claims his client was trying to kill ants in the kitchen.

“I poured Drano into the cup three times—to kill the ants. That’s not in dispute. I poured Drano into the cup,” said Simmons.

Chen said he installed a hidden camera in his house last April, when he said he “began noticing a strange taste in his tea.”

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said the photos captured Yu pouring a substance into tea on July 11, July 18 and July 25.

Chen’s divorce declarations state that he has “two stomach ulcers, gastritis and esophagitis.”

Chen’s lawyer said he believed Yu did not want to kill her husband, but rather make him suffer.

“What she did was diabolical. She inserted herself seamlessly into his morning routine. We don’t know how long it took him to realize he was being poisoned,” said Steve Hittleman, the husband’s attorney.

Yeo is expected to go to trial in the coming weeks and could face eight years if convicted on all charges. Meanwhile, her husband has filed for divorce and is fighting for full custody of their children.
