A service dog jumps into action to save an owner from getting a medical episode

Kennesaw, Georgia – This dog is really a woman’s best friend.

A service dog in Georgia jumped into action to help his owner who was having a medical episode.

Katie Graham shared a video taken in February that shows her 4-year-old service dog Billy alerting her to a “disturbing” medical episode.

In the video, Graham slowly sits down while Bailey runs to pick up her phone, take her medication off the counter, and open the fridge to get her a drink.

Graham suffers from postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, a circulatory disorder known as POTS.

However, thanks to Bailey, Graham said she is able to feel safe, even when she is alone.

in an Instagram postPOTS is “often a silent battle,” Graham said, adding that “people don’t understand how debilitating it is on a daily basis. My condition is getting worse because I’m trying to keep my life organized. It’s incredibly sad to realize that your body can no longer handle washing dishes anymore.”
