Triple H reveals his WWE draft return on SmackDown

It’s been a roller coaster week for WWE, as the company announced that it would be sold to UFC parent Endeavor. The Monday Night Raw post-WrestleMania movie also featured some interesting surprises, including Brock Lesnar turning on Cody Rhodes, though many were busier with Vince McMahon returning to Gorilla and on headset during the episode. Triple H announced that he would be appearing on SmackDown tonight, and asked about his message to fans. Triple H answered that question on tonight’s SmackDown, and his message was about the future. Triple H revealed that the WWE Draft is happening, and it will happen soon.

Triple H started by saying “I can tell you, as long as there is breath in my body it will never age. I know you’ve been here already for a while but welcome to SmackDown. And let me just say there is nothing in the world like WrestleMania. That’s where it comes from.” The greatest athletes from around the world to make history on the greatest stage of them all in a place where hearts are broken and dreams come true.”

“And this year, WrestleMania 39 exceeded all expectations. It’s an event where millions of fans set a record and fans packed into a mystical stadium for two nights, breaking every single WWE record we have,” Triple H said. “From views to attendance to a total of 21.6 million, to sales, to sponsorships, to merchandise. If there’s a record, you name it, we’ve broken it. Including nearly 1 billion digital views this week alone.”

“But as great as WrestleMania was, it’s now behind us, and now we’re looking to the future. And that’s why I’m here. To talk about the future, are you ready? I said are you ready! Because I want to tell you that in only a few weeks, it’s time WWE Draft time again!”

“A night that changes the future of every star at the back, and this year the draft will be bigger than ever, with every star eligible to participate in the draft. And I promise you this, when all is said and done, this draft year will truly change the game,” Triple H said. That’s when Triple H introduced the new SmackDown Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley. “And speaking of changing the game, let me introduce you to someone who does just that. After her victory over Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, please welcome the SmackDown Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley!” Then Ripley came out with Judgment Day to address the crowd.

Triple H said every superstar is eligible, but does that mean superstars from NXT are also available for registration? We’ll have to wait and see, but the rosters could use an update, and it’s the perfect time to do the draft.
