“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” the palace said in an earlier statement.

The coronation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday 6 May at Westminster Abbey. The date coincides with the birthday of Archie, who will turn four.

Harry was most recently in the UK in March, on a solo trip to attend court hearings on a court case, but he is not believed to have met Charles or his older brother, Prince William.

Harry described tensions with his father and brother for several years, most of which were public after he and Meghan stepped down from their roles as members of the royal family in 2020.

It is unknown if Harry has seen William and Charles in person since the release of his memoir “Spear” earlier this year, in which he lays out the family feud.

“He’s had conversations with King Charles over the months since this book was published. And so I think if there was an opportunity to see his son, their support for him on coronation day would mean a lot. Whether that gives them any time other than how the relationship is – I don’t think so.” The focus is really on coronation weekend, but at least it’s building one extra step on this very long bridge of reconciliation,” Scobie added.

The last time Harry was seen in public with his family was in September, when he and Meghan attended the funeral of Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Despite his falling out with Charles and William, the heir to the throne, Harry has said he would like the monarchy to continue.

Tell GMA announcer Michael Strahan in January that, speaking openly, he hoped to be able to reconcile with his family.

“If we can get to the point of reconciliation, that will have a ripple effect around the world,” Harry said in the interview. “I really believe that, and that’s kind of what drives me. And if it doesn’t happen, it’s very sad.”
