Lisa Marie’s deep love for her “dad” Elvis in a sentimental Graceland moment | music | entertainment

Back in January, Elvis Presley fans were shocked and saddened by the sudden death of his only child, Lisa Marie Presley, at the age of 54.

Along with such immediate family members as her mother, Priscilla, and her three daughters, her cousins who lived with her at Graceland also paid tribute.

And more recently, one of them, Danny Smith, her childhood playmate at her Tennessee mansion, shared fond memories from the ’70s.

In a new video on his Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube channel, he shared how he loved Lisa Marie coming to stay at Graceland.

After her parents separated in 1972, she lived with her mother most of the time in California but stayed with her father, King, during the holidays.

Lisa Marie announces her arrival to her cousins by rolling their trailer at Graceland Ranch into a golf cart. Elvis’ sassy daughter would jokingly call them “leftovers” and bang on the walls until Danny and his brother Joey would get up to go out and play.

Her cousin recalled: “We decided to stick to the back of the golf cart or else we’d try to hitch the ropes sometimes and let Lisa pull us on our skateboards in the drive or up. When we went down the drive though she would giggle her butt. She’d hit the brakes and of course she’d go with our butts to The back of a golf cart! She thought that was so funny.”

Aside from running around Graceland and driving Aunt Elvis crazy, Danny also shared a very touching moment when Lisa left Marie in tears for her father.

Danny shared: “One night, Lisa was so close to having to go back to California. We were sitting on the stairs with all the mirrors going down to the pool room. She was upset… crying a little.

“I asked her what was wrong and she’d say she wasn’t ready to go back and she’d say things like she wished she’d stayed… and how much she enjoyed being with her dad and all the things we were over.

“We would sit and talk about the things we had done and the things we would do the next time she came over. She loved it and she didn’t like her father going anywhere without her and of course they did.”

Lisa Marie is now buried in the Meditation Garden in Graceland near her father, Elvis.
