Amazon Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 2 is in production, and the show’s cast is teasing fans that season 2 will live up to the show’s title more than season 1 – because there will be more actual powerhouse episodes at play!
The final episode of the first season of rings of power (spoilers) saw Archvelin Sauron (disguised as warrior Charlie Vickers Hallbrand) succeed in influencing the Elves into creating the first three Rings of Power, in Erigon. Although Elrond (Robert Aramayo) discovered the deception (too late), the first three rings crafted by Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards) really seemed to be tempting the elves with their power.

“When we finished the first season, the episodes were being made and we knew it was going to be a huge change for Middle-earth,” Clark explained. “[Galadriel] She will be part of that change because she has her own ring.”
Actor Peter Mullan (King Doreen III) was more blunt, quipping, “There are more episodes; the show is called rings of power. Maybe I’ll get a new necklace, who knows? “
What are rings of power?
In JRR Tolkien lore, there were twenty Rings of Power that were forged during the Second Age of Middle-earth (when the Rings of Power occur). The Rings had been destroyed by Sauron from the start, in a scheme to take over Middle-earth. Nineteen Rings have been distributed to the leaders of the various races of Middle-earth:
- 3 Rings of Power are given to elves.
- 7 Rings of Power were given to dwarves.
- 9 rings of power were given to the tribes of men.
- 1 Ring of Power forged by Sauron at Mount Doom; This ring was the only one Sauron used to control all others and a powerful spell that turned Sauron’s evil.
As the title of the show suggests, this Lord of the rings The prequel series explores how all of the Rings of Power were created and distributed across Middle-earth – which hands they ended up with, and what effects the Corrupted artifacts had on the course of Middle-earth’s history. Looks like this story will really take off during that rings of power Season 2 – and hopefully, the show will do better for it.
