The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 takes place this week, with the semi-finals taking place on Tuesday (May 9) and Thursday (May 11), and the grand final on Saturday (May 13). Streaming begins at 8pm GMT / 3pm ET. Full details below.

A total of 37 countries started the competition, down from the typical 40 countries. Bulgaria, Montenegro and North Macedonia withdrew due to mounting financial costs. The remaining countries will compete with the “Big Five” plus the United Kingdom (who qualifies as host) in the finals.
Eurovision 2023 is being held in Liverpool in the UK, which is hosting on behalf of last year’s winners, Ukraine. The tradition of hosting last year’s winners could not happen this year, as Ukraine is still at war with Russia.
The UK last year pledged to honor Ukraine, whose Kalush Orchestra won last year’s song “Stefania”.
Today, in Semi-Final 1, we will see performances from Azerbaijan, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Sweden and Switzerland.
In the next round we will see the performance of Albania, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, San Marino and Slovenia.

Eurovision 2023 will be broadcast live at 3pm EST / 12pm PT today (Tuesday May 9), Thursday (May 11), and Saturday (May 13). Tuesday is Semi-Final 1, Thursday is Semi-Final 2 and the Grand Final is on Saturday.
How to watch Eurovision 2023 in Australia
In Australia, Eurovision 2023 is shown on SBS and SBS On Demand, and will be broadcast both in live time (which is much earlier) and during prime time (in a more regular hour).
Eurovision 2023 will be broadcast live on SBS at 6 am on Wednesday (May 5) for Semi-Final Match 1, Friday (May 12) for Semi-Final Match 2 and Sunday (May 14).
SBS On Demand airs later that day at 1pm AEST for the Semi Finals, and at 4pm AEST for the Grand Finals.
Primetime rebroadcasts on SBS and SBS On Demand at 8:30pm EDT on Friday (May 12), Saturday (May 13) and Monday (May 14).
