After Dr No, From Russia with Love and Goldfinger, 1965’s Thunderball is set to be even bigger for Sean Connery’s James Bond.
With a budget that was more than the last three 007 films combined, the Hollywood star performed the gun sequence for the first time himself.
Thunderball, which airs on ITV today at 4pm, is famous for a number of underwater diving scenes where Connery’s Bond meets sharks.
During filming, it was supposed to be protected by transparent plastic panels that were protected in the close-up.
However, the only problem was that these only extend about three feet high and predators can swim over them.

As a result, the 007 star ended up getting very close to them, especially during a pool fight at the Largo mansion. Thunderball director Terence Young later said that there are scenes in the film in which Bond interacts with sharks, which are false.

With filming on Thunderball over, he had one interview with Playboy and even turned down a big payday to be featured on an NBC promotional TV show called The Incredible World of James Bond. However, the Scottish legend has not lost its sense of humor, as the Bond girl is told by Martyn Beswick.
“One time, we were done shooting for the day, and there were hundreds of people walking around on the beach, all tight. Sean called the hairdresser, ‘Here, you,’ and then He simply took off his wig and threw it at the hairdresser.
“The hair piece sailed like a Frisbee and when the hairstylist picked it up, Sean said something like, ‘That’s it, I’m out.'” “Everyone just collapsed. And it was the funniest thing.”
