Tina Turner The Musical Audience Talked About Her Death During An Interlude — But The Show Goes On | music | entertainment

Tina Turner’s fans were devastated last night when they were informed of her passing during Tina’s musical interlude last night.

Audiences at London’s Aldwych Theater were told of the icon’s death when the actor appeared onstage in the mid-show intermission.

Theatre-goers said there were “gasps” from the audience as the sad news was announced.

However, the cast decided that the show should go on and resumed performing in the interval.

Len Smith, 72, from Colchester, went on to describe the atmosphere in the theatre, saying it was “heartbreaking”.

She said, “It was a mixture of sadness and happiness. It’s unbelievable that we were there when she died.”

Music lovers have laid flowers outside the Aldwych Theatre, which has been the venue for the popular musical since April 2018.

Publicity confirmed that Tina Turner, who was born Anna Mae Bullock, had died at the age of 83 from an ongoing illness.

While the cause of her death is still unknown, she has suffered from several health problems in recent years, including stroke and kidney disease.

Fellow musicians came out in droves to pay tribute to the late Queen of Rock and Roll.

Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, who has frequently collaborated with Turner, said: “I am so saddened by the passing of my wonderful friend Tina Turner. She was truly a very talented artist and singer.

“She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was little and I will never forget her.”

American singer Gloria Gaynor said she “paved the way for a lot of women in rock music, black and white”.

She continued, “She did with great dignity and success what very few people could have dared to do in her time and in this kind of music.”

Megastar Beyoncé, who has previously performed with Turner, called her “the epitome of passion and strength.”
