Seth “Freakin” Rollins and AJ Styles will compete for the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship, in one of the three “main events” advertised on the show. Triple H introduced the new belt in the week leading up to Backlash to fill the vacancy left by Raw not having a top division champion. (Sorry, Intercontinental Champion Gunter.)
Rollins seems almost perfectly positioned for the win, since he’s had the loud crowd behind him for months, he’s actually on Raw and WWE’s promotional videos for the match are all about him. Meanwhile, Styles only appeared on Grayson Waller’s talk show.
The other big title match is for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, as Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens make their first trips with WWE to Saudi Arabia. They’re defending against another pair of singles superstars: Solo Sekoa and undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. We find it odd to think of betting on Reigns, but his team has more drama going on right now.
Elsewhere: Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley have title defenses with a short storyline. By the way, Cody Rhodes has a kayfabe injury, but he’s still ready to fight Brock Linsar.
