Leaves of Glass at Park Theater review: Fantastic cast wrap up incendiary domestic drama | theater | entertainment

Stephen (Ned Costello) runs a graffiti cleaning company. He hires his younger, technician, alcoholic brother Barry (Joseph Potter) to keep him out of trouble.

Stephen’s pregnant wife Debbie (Katie Buchholz) questions her husband about his unexplained absence while the boy’s fearful mother Liz (Casey Ainsworth) keeps the lid on the past tight.

Although the two brothers have very different personalities, they both have the same demons, conjured by their father whose untimely death remains a mystery until late in the play.

The legacy of abuse is now a familiar backstory, but Ridley’s handling of family lies, denial, and misdirection is as sharp as a freshly trimmed razor.

A strict set of four black seats is enough for a quartet of fine actors to navigate Ridley’s piercing play with startling authority. Director Max Harrison’s emaciated recovery far exceeds his weight. Seize it when you can.
