Anaheim, California – Park officials announced Thursday that changes are coming to the Disneyland Resort as Disney’s Paradise Pier is slated to transform into the Pixar Place Hotel.
When completed, Pixar Place will be the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the country.
Officials shared new details and artist concept renderings of the reimagined hotel, while the transformation is expected to be completed sometime this winter.
This 15-story high-rise hotel overlooking Disney California Adventure remains open while changes occur.
Officials say the lobby will begin to blend Pixar imagery with the hotel’s contemporary setting. In addition, guests will be greeted by the Pixar Lamp balancing on top of the ball.
Later this summer, overnight guests can visit an all-new water play area inspired by “Finding Nemo,” according to the Disney Parks blog. The area will include a 186-foot waterslide.
More new features are planned for the hotel, including a family playground with activities inspired by Pixar shorts.
In the fall, Southern California-based Great Maple will open a new restaurant on the ground floor.
More details about the shift can be found at Disney Parks Blog.
Disney is the parent company of this station.
