Houston, Texas (KTRK) – An alleged drunk driver and pedestrian are facing charges after a crazy chain of events unfolded in a North Houston parking lot on Monday.

The Houston Police Department announced Tuesday that Enrique Cantu, 41, has been charged with assault with alcohol, and Armando Garcia, 27, has been charged with aggravated assault.
It all started around 2am in the Micheladas Tres Hermanos parking lot in the 7700 Terminal of Airline Drive after the bar had just closed.
The Department of Public Health said the driver, identified by police as Kantu and charged with drunkenness, pulled into the parking lot and got into an argument with someone.
He allegedly began driving erratically when police said he hit two cars, reversed onto Airline Drive, and ran over two women who were exiting the parking lot.
Police said he continued walking and hit a utility pole, which knocked out power in the area for hours.
Cantu then attempted to flee, but witnesses in the area fought him off until officers arrived.
The police department said a bystander, identified as Garcia, began to violently beat Cantu but fled when police arrived.
“When officers confronted him, one of the officers punched him in the lip, and that officer attacked him,” HPD’s Rebecca Dallas told ABC13 Monday.
Cantu and García were injured and taken to the hospital. Both were said to be in stable condition.
HPD only provided a booking photo for Garcia.
The women involved were also hospitalized with serious injuries but are expected to survive.
