The Cain Dog actor from Red Dead Redemption 2 has died in real life

The actor who played the dog, Cain, in Red Dead Redemption 2 Died in real life. The way video games are made these days is pretty cool, especially considering how realistic many of them are. What used to be small sprites on screen eventually evolved into animated characters with voices performed in a recording booth and then evolved into what we have today the actors perform all their scenes on a soundstage in mocap costumes allowing them to perform full body and facial to add to the game with their voices . This extended far beyond just humans as all animals such as horses, dogs and other trained animals were captured and put into games.

One game that has gone the extra mile to capture as much detail as possible for a rich and rich experience is Red Dead Redemption 2. It is packed with many great and memorable performances, both big and small. One of the offerings came from a dog. There is a dog named Cain in Red Dead Redemption 2 He wanders around the camp and greets Dutch and young Jack, leading to the two agreeing to keep him. The Dutch decided to name him Cain, apparently after the biblical character. It’s a pretty nice moment, especially in a game that has some pretty tough moments. The character was played by a dog named Einstein and unfortunately his owner, Red Dead Redemption 2 Animator Jason Barnes revealed on Instagram that the dog passed away at the age of 13.

An excerpt from the Instagram post reads: “Though our time together is over, your memory will live on forever.” “Red Dead Redemption 2 He may immortalize you like Cain, but it’s the memories we created together that truly keep your soul alive. The lessons you taught me about loyalty, love, and living life to the fullest will never be forgotten.”

It’s a very touching tribute and shows that games are made up of much more than just pixels on screen. Barnes told PCGamer (via GamingBible) that Einstein was known as the “top dog” at Rockstar’s New York offices. Einstein died tragically of cancer, despite being expected to live into his twenties.
