Jeff Hardy recently returned to All Elite Wrestling. The enigma wrestler has wrestled a handful of matches for the youth promotion after debuting in early 2022, being suspended indefinitely last summer after being arrested for a DUI. Jeff’s absence lasted until the end of 2022 as he was not allowed to return to AEW until he completed rehab and maintained his sobriety. Jeff would return to AEW this past April, helping his brother Matt and joining the fight against The Firm. The former WWE Champion has only had five matches since his return, and it looks like he’s about to be on the verge of an extended absence from the ring.
After the Hardys lost to Austin and Colton Gunn tonight AEW DynamiteClub’s golden bullet hit the ring to attack the losing team. Despite reinforcements from AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR, Ricky Starks, and CM Punk, neither Jeff nor Matt could stand tall with faces.
As I mentioned combat selectionThis attack was performed after the match to specifically get Jeff off the TV. This is due to the aforementioned DUI hold preventing him from traveling to Canada. AEW is heading north on Saturday for AEW Collision She will embark on a Canadian tour through the July 19th release of the AEW Dynamitewhich will take place in Boston, Massachusetts.
This would be the second consecutive year for Jeff missing Barred Door AEW x NJPW. Jeff’s last match before his ban came one month before his first forbidden doorwhere he and Matt defeated The Young Bucks Double AEW or nothing 2022. There is no word on if there are plans for Jeff to wrestle in Barred Door AEW x NJPW Either last year or this year.
