Philadelphia – Crews have been working around the clock to get I-95 back up and moving after the crash less than two weeks ago.
One worker has become a TikTok sensation for his daily updates.
“They say we can’t do it in three days,” Raul Figueroa said on the social media platform.
He was referring to the rapid process of building temporary lanes on the highway.
A simple 8 second clip It has been viewed nearly 300,000 times on TikTok, with tens of thousands of likes and hundreds of comments. Many people were cheering for him and his teammates.
“I was surprised because I did it to have a little fun, and as it went on I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
Figueroa was part of the 24-hour night staff preparing the temporary lanes for traffic. The lanes reopened on Friday and ahead of schedule.
He documented the ordeal as they braved the elements all week.
“My team is amazing!” Figueroa said
He added, “We’ve got 57, 556, 158, 592 locals, you have all the locals here to build this together as a family, to build the bridge so everyone can get their lives back together.”
