Liam Payne admits he had a secret 100-day rehab stay after being ‘in bad shape’ | Celebrity News | Showbiz and television

Liam Payne revealed that he spent 100 days in a rehab center in Louisiana to “recover”.

After falling out with his One Direction bandmates, Payne, 29, took a break from public life to work on himself.

He’s now back on his YouTube channel with a candid post about his time in rehab.

“I’m sorry [being] MIA,” he began in the video for “I’m Back.”

“You guys know there were some reasons I did this and I just needed to take some time for myself.

“You kind of became someone I didn’t recognize and I’m sure you didn’t either.”

Payne apologized to his fans as he shared his recent experience at the Luciana Centre.

He said it was an “amazing place” that helped him “get there.” [his] straight ahead.”

He continued, “I was in bad shape until that moment.”

“I was really happy more than anything when I got to some kind of life and work stopper. I didn’t have my phone for about 100 days.

“I had no contact with the outside world at all and that was kind of preparing me for that moment.

“On leaving the hardest point was to restart the phone…because it was a bit scary.”

Payne revealed more details about his experience in the video, including learning about more of his hobbies.

He emphasized that he loves drawing and that he enjoys writing, music and poetry.

Payne even managed to draw a portrait of famous artist David Hockney and present it to the man himself.

He now believed he had “more control” over his life and “more of a grip” on things he felt were slipping away from him.

The One Direction star is now sober six months after realizing he didn’t need alcohol during a party in Dubai.

He’ll also be back on tour soon in South America, though he admitted he’s a little afraid of the challenge.

Payne also claimed that former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik “came to their rescue” despite admitting he didn’t like Malik during an appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast.
