A young girl was found alone with her mother's body inside the apartment, HPD says

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – In a new development, a woman has been arrested in connection with the case in which a mother was found shot dead in the Spring Branch area, according to court documents.

Lakery Tolliver, 25, is accused of tampering and fabricating physical evidence. The documents said Tolliver was allegedly present when the murder of 29-year-old Laurel Falk took place at Adele Weber Family Place.

Documents indicate that Tolliver removed the cell phone that would have been classified as evidence.

On June 27, Faulk was found shot dead inside a unit at the supported living facility for homeless and low-income families, operated by The Women’s Home, at 7600 Hammerley Block.

According to the police, a female child, identified by the victim’s family as Volk’s daughter, was present at the time of the murder.

On Thursday, the Houston Police Department released photos of an unidentified suspect in connection with the murder.

The suspect is described as a slim-built black man in his late 20s or early 30s, about six feet tall, according to police. Police said the relationship between Falk and the suspect is not known.

Tolliver is expected to appear in court on Monday, June 17.
