Pompano Beach, Florida – Authorities in Florida have released video of a brutal attack inside an AMC movie theater that was allegedly stemming from a seating issue.
The incident occurred on July 10 in Pompano Beach, Florida, just north of Fort Lauderdale.
The victim, who spoke anonymously, said: “He just went to town on my face.” WSVN-TV. “I had to get two stitches in my head. I had a broken nose, and it seemed to be healing. I bruised.”
The 63-year-old disabled veteran said he was attacked after he told a couple they were sitting in his seat.
“I told him, ‘You, you know, are in our seats,’ and … he sat there, staring at me with a look of disdain.”
The victim said he eventually asked the couple to stay in the seats.
As I was walking away, he said to me, ‘Go run to your wife, little boy,’ and I turned and said, ‘Excuse me? ‘ I said, ‘You who are a little boy.’ I’ll let you have my seat.”
This is when things took a physical turn.
He jumped up and said: Do you want to fight? Want to fight?’ I extended my arms to stay at a distance, and I don’t know if I fell down the stairs or if he pushed me.”
Video showing the victim being beaten before falling to the ground. The suspect continued punching him until others stepped in to help. The attacker eventually escaped with a woman.
“I got punched,” said the victim. “I couldn’t believe what happened.”
Investigators are now hoping someone will identify the suspect and the woman.
The victim said, “I hope I catch this guy and will definitely sue.”
