My Hero Academia is working through its final chapter, which of course means that all eyes are on our stars. Izuku and Shigaraki were at each other’s throats, and it wasn’t long until Dabi saw the end of his reign. These days, My Hero Academia has been busy with Toga, and in the wake of his latest chapter, fans are wondering if the villain’s fate is truly sealed.
So of course, spoiler warning! Below are major spoilers for My Hero Academia below. Read carefully!
If you’ve caught up with My Hero Academia, you’ll know that its most recent class was a doozy. We checked in with Ochaco and Toga as the pair ended their fight. Despite their grievous wounds, the girls finish their battle alive, but Ochako is left bleeding on the floor. With a mortal wound on her stomach, it was only a matter of time before she died, but Toga wouldn’t allow that to happen.
Toga is touched by Oshaku’s heroism after their intense battle. Instead of being locked in prison after the war, Toga decides to take control of her own destiny. She turned into an oshaku so that the girl would have all the blood she needed to live. However, she did so knowing that a blood transfusion would kill her. Toga promised Ochaco her full blood, and by the end of this week’s update, we saw Toga’s final thoughts before her apparent death.
Of course, the My Hero Academia fan is still talking about the reveal. Readers of the manga are divided into two camps, with many finding Toga’s sacrifice appropriate after all she has been through. As for the others, they are not convinced of Toga’s death at all, and many believe that Toga’s death will defeat the goal of My Hero Academia. Winning is all that saves him, after all, and there are fans out there who think Toga’s death is nothing but a win.
Obviously, the My Hero Academia fandom was divided over Toga’s fate, and only time will tell if the character stays dead. The successful manga is good at deceiving fans about a character’s death, but Toga’s ending felt as final as the one delivered by Sir Knightai and Twice. So if you’re not into My Hero Academia, we suggest you marathon the manga on the Shonen Jump app ASAP!
